How to share a folder between computers over a network, to ensure Sage 50 Accounts can read the data.
Description
To share data over a network, set the share up on the folders you need to access on the second computer.
By sharing the folders that Sage 50 Accounts requires, you can log into the same company data on two separate computers.
NOTE: You need a multi-user licence to use your software on two computers at once. If you have a single user licence and would like to upgrade it, leave your details and we'll be in touch.
Resolution
The steps you need to follow depend on which operating system you use.
TIP: If you're not certain which operating system you use, press the Windows key
+ R, type winver then click OK.
Select the relevant option below to find out what you need to do.
▼ Windows 11- Press the Windows key and E on your keyboard to open a File Explorer window.
- Browse through your folders until you find the folder you need to share.
- Right-click on the folder to share, and select Show more options.
- Select Give access to then Specific people.
- Enter their username, or click the drop-down option and select Everyone to add all users.
- Select Add.
The users you added now have access to this folder.

- Browse through your folders until you find the folder you need to share.
- Right-click on the folder to share, and select Give access to.
- Select the Specific people option.
- Enter their username, or click the drop-down option and select Everyone to add all users.
- Select Add.
The users you added now have access to this folder.
